About
Background
I work at the point where political research, open-source investigation and software meet. My focus is Syria and the wider Middle East: how conflict and state violence are documented, how that documentation is verified, and how it can be organised so that accountability processes can actually use it.
I completed a BA in Political Science and International Relations with a Minor in Economics in three years at Bahçeşehir University, and I am now reading for an MA in Global Affairs on the thesis track at the same university.
Alongside the research I design and build the tools: an open-source investigation platform, teaching software used in university classrooms, and lower-level technical prototypes. The research sets the questions and the engineering makes them tractable.
